Jess Miller, the son of Terry and Jan Miller, has been suffering physical difficulties. So much so that he was hospitalized last week. After a myriad of tests (and still no answers), he was released to go back home. Terry and Jan went down last Friday to help watch the children so that Jess can rest while Natalie holds down her job.
For those of you that don't know, Jess has just completed his first year at BJU Seminary. They were members of Morning Star Baptist Church prior to their move to South Carolina.

I just spoke with Natalie this afternoon and got an update to post here.
Actually, last week's hospitalization was one of the first rays of hope in a months-long saga of questions about Jess's health. After having received no clear answers as to why he was having shooting chest pains, shortness of breath, fever and general physical weariness since March, last week's EKG revealed that he was experiencing pericarditis, a condition in which fluid has built up around the heart. He was admitted in order to begin the process of reducing the fluid buildup, and to seek answers about why he had pericarditis (since it is only the symptom of some other illness). After being put on steroids and going through numerous tests to seek the original cause, he was released from the hospital on Thursday afternoon. So far, all the tests results that they have received back have been negative. So please pray that the doctors would have wisdom in further testing to be able to discern the main problem.
This afternoon, Natalie said Jess is finally beginning to feel a little better, which they assume probably means the fluid buildup is lessening. (Jess was actually at the doctor's having another EKG even as I spoke with her.) She said Jess told her he finally feels like he's coming out of the daze he's been in for some time now. Wednesday, Jess is scheduled to see a rheumatologist to explore other possibilities.
One more prayer request is that Jess would not catch Wyatt's sickness that appeared yesterday (a sickness which I fear Wyatt caught from our children last week :-(. Jess's immune system isn't too strong at this point.
Our church family is concerned for the Millers, and yet have rejoiced to see how the Lord has been sustaining them. We also enjoyed having the senior Millers with us in our services yesterday.
Thank you, Ruth.
Ruth is Tim Bixby's wife. Tim is the pastor of the church where Jess and Natalie are members.
